spacer Raglan Road Disney World Orlando
You might have noticed me grappling with a big (4 1/2 x 9 feet) canvas on my facebook pages over the last couple of weeks!! You might have noticed some familiar faces like Ronnie Drew and Jimmy Joyce having a couple of pints in it.
This is a commission for the “Raglan Road” a famous Dublin styled pub in Disney world, Orlando. The pub/restaurant extends to 16,000 feet and is hugely popular.
The big challenge for me is to show a scene that is fun for adults and children alike and to give an idea of the “craic agus ceoil” that is to be found within. There is a lot of work involved here and it will have me busy for another of couple of weeks yet. I will keep posting up my progress so that when it is finished you will have a record of how it was made, step by step.
It will be launched in Disney World in November as part of the “Festival Of The Masters”, a 35 year old festival of painting, featuring 150 artists with over 100,000 vistors!!
